Community Building
Our business is all about providing solutions for people. We like to develop better and more efficient ways to work and make that work meaningful. The heart and soul of HouseTuner is our ability to create a sustainable organization that has tremendous value to the larger communities in which we work. We have more than just an opportunity. We have a responsibility. And we’re running with it! One of our core philosophies is that we have a responsibility to invest our profits into the communities in which we work. That is called Social Entrepreneurship. It’s also fun. We have created a residual community fund that will invest profits from our business, as well as matching contributions from our clients, back into the community. We have committed to giving XXX from every Tune Up towards this fund as well as inspiring our clients to match that gift. It just feels good to know that our hard work will continue to winspire and provide opportunities to the many organizations and causes we support. We are focused on several issues and will choose organizations based on a multitude of criteria. See below for a list of organizations we support and The Good Stuff that we do around town. Organizations we support
LAUNCHDENVER – A community organization started by Gregg Schulman. The mission is to promote, empower and provide opportunity to youth through entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
BOLTAGE- This organization’s mission is to make walking and biking to school a way of life.
STAND UP FOR KIDS- provides local resources and support to homeless and at-risk youth
LIVESTRONG- The Lance Armstrong Foundation unites, inspires and empowers people affected by cancer.
WISH FOR WHEELS- Provides free bikes and helmets to local kids in Denver Public Schools.
Seniors
We have a special place in our hearts for seniors. We are genuinely sensitive to the challenges that seniors face when maintaining their homes. Often tight budgets and limited mobility mean that many things are simply avoided. We want to help. We are inspired to implement a program that will provide our services at cost, heavily discounted or for free. This is no fancy PR stunt. This is the right thing to do and it feels good. If you know of a senior that could use our help, please send us their info and we will contact them.
Environmental Stewardship
We have a unique opportunity here at HouseTuner. A direct benefit of our One Day House Tune Up is that we fix stuff. Fixing leaky toilets and faucets saves up to 7,000 gallons of water a MONTH. We make everything more efficient. Power-brushing your dryer vent puts less stress on the dryer. The clothes dry more quickly, the dryer lasts longer and you spend less on utilities. It’s that simple. The compound effect of what we do is huge. By making everything in your home most efficient, you can rest assured that you are only using what you need and not wasting resources.
